Journaling Through Transitions
Offered as part of the workshop series, GOING WITHIN: Workshops for the Second Half of Life.

The aging process presents us with countless changes. The term “transition” refers to how we respond to the significant changes of life. You’ll learn writing exercises specifically designed to bring more awareness and intention to how you navigate the endings, in-between times, and new beginnings. Please bring notepads.

Wednesday, Feb 1, 2012 from 2-4PM
Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship,
1207 Ellsworth St., in Bellingham.
No pre-registration necessary. Contact Rachel Manrique at rsmanrique@comcast.net or 360-920-7638 for more information.

Two Saturday morning workshops offered through Whatcom Community College, 9 AM - Noon

Overcoming Procrastination—January 28
Come find out what is underneath procrastination and what keeps it stuck. I’ll share current perspectives and approaches through informal lecture and discussion. You’ll have an opportunity to personalize the information through brief, focused journal writing exercises. You’ll leave with a toolkit of techniques to clear mental and emotional obstacles, undo self-sabotage and lower anxiety. You’ll also learn quick tricks to get you moving.

Letting Go of Clutter—March 10
This introductory workshop is designed to help you gain an understanding of what it takes to release physical and schedule clutter and the mental and emotional clutter that goes with it. Whether you experience clutter as a minor annoyance, a lifelong struggle, or somewhere in between you’ll come away with a more helpful perspective and strategies to address it on multiple levels.

Coming This Spring: Clearing the Clutter—A Sacred Act
Clearing clutter is an act of faith. It involves letting go of what is safe and familiar and opening up to what might be emerging in your life. Having an accumulation of clutter can get in the way. It can also cause you to bully yourself into making changes.

This 8-week, small group class takes a different approach, exploring the process of releasing excess baggage with kindness, respect, and creative curiosity. We’ll experiment with how to use it intentionally as a transformation ritual. Kay Adams’ Journal to the Self® writing techniques will be interwoven throughout to support you in clearing the clutter to claim your life.
Time and location to be announced.
